Ross and Jenny’s wedding was very much the same as Ross and Jenny – beautiful and fun. From the beginning of their day, there was a perfect balance of eager anticipation and easygoing enjoyment. It was wonderful to photograph!
As the ceremony began, Ross waiting at the front, Jenny stood with her Dad with a gorgeous mix of nerves and excitement in her eyes. The mass was over before we knew it and we all met the brand new Bartelses for the first time!
We loved the photo of everyone in attendance on the steps of the Golden Dome because it sort of mirrored the overall air of love and camaraderie that we saw throughout the entire wedding day.
We loved the way that Ross and Jenny completely embraced some quirky photo fun and had a blast on a February day without any actual snow. When we first met with these two they were very excited about a snowy wedding at the Basilica and Gillespie, and we were equally excited. As the date grew near, we began fearing that there may not be any snow on the big day since we’ve had one of the mildest winters in recent memory. We improvised when this became a reality by making down pillows into snow machines! It was awesome! Really cool. Really fun. Really Ross and Jenny:)
Since Ross and Jenny first met on an evening when Jenny had been in a costumed shopping cart race in the rain (as an angel:), we thought it would be fun to incorporate shopping carts and some masks. And they rocked it like it was an everyday thing. Who doesn’t do this? Seriously, the coolest, funnest people in the world! It was a photo time packed with smiles and laughter. Such a great time!
When photos were wrapped up we headed to cocktail hour and then the reception and dinner.
We loved the red wagon (Ross designs toys for Radio Flyer!), the awesome toasts, the music, dinner and the excellent carefree dancing. It was a wonderful party befitting an amazing couple!
We had the best time photographing and being around these people and we hope that you love their photos as much as we loved making them!
